The last couple of weeks have given me a lot to reflect on.
Just over a week ago, my oldest daughter got married. As a divorced dad of two amazing daughters, I knew it would be an emotional day, but I wasn't prepared for just how proud I'd feel. It was one of those days you'll remember forever. Beautiful weather, an incredible venue, family and friends all together, and two wonderful people beginning the next chapter of their lives.
Then this Monday, August 3rd, our local Ace Handyman Services Fox Valley team begins our 7th year in business.
Two very different milestones, but they've both reminded me of something that's easy to overlook. The best things in life are built over time, and they're built with people.
Over the past couple of weeks, a number of people have congratulated me on reaching our seventh year in business. I truly appreciate that. But the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized this milestone doesn't belong to me. It belongs to everyone who has been part of this journey.
To every employee and craftsman who has worn our shirt over the years, thank you. You helped build the reputation we have today.
To our customers, thank you for trusting us with your homes. We know that's a privilege, and we never take that trust for granted.
To our referral partners, vendors, friends, family, and fellow business owners, thank you for your encouragement, your advice, and your support along the way.
One thing I'm especially proud of is the culture we've built together. Every day, every job, and every customer interaction, our mission is simple. Delight our customers.
Are we perfect? No. Nobody is.
But I can honestly say our team shows up every day committed to that mission. We celebrate when we exceed expectations, and when we fall short, we own it, learn from it, and work to make it right. That's who we are, and it's who we'll continue to be.
As we begin Year 7, I'm excited about what's ahead. Not because another calendar page has turned, but because I know the people I'm blessed to work alongside every day. Their character, their work ethic, and their commitment to serving others give me every reason to be optimistic about the future.
To everyone who has been part of our story, thank you. We appreciate your trust, your support, and the opportunity to serve this incredible community. Here's to Year 7.
