Onyx Vanity Tops with Integrated Sinks: A Simple Bathroom Upgrade for Northwest Columbus Homes

Not every bathroom needs a full remodel. Sometimes the vanity top is the only thing making a bathroom look dated.

A Columbus homeowner recently came to Ace Handyman Services Northwest Columbus with one clear request. They wanted to replace the old builder-grade vanity top and sink and keep everything else, including the cabinets, mirror, and fixtures they already liked. Our craftsmen installed a made-to-order Onyx Collection countertop with an integrated rectangular sink, and the bathroom now feels brand new. Meeting customers where they are means doing the project they actually want.

Why Replace a Builder-Grade Bathroom Countertop?

Many homes in Columbus, Dublin, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, and on the west side of I-71 still have their original one-piece molded vanity tops. Over time, these tops dull, discolor, stain, and chip around the drain. Replacing only the bathroom countertop and sink is one of the fastest and most budget-friendly bathroom updates. It doesn't require tearing out cabinets, flooring, or walls.

What Is an Onyx Collection Vanity Top?

Onyx Collection vanity tops, which Onyx calls lavatories, are made to order in Kansas to fit your cabinet exactly. The sink bowl is molded directly into the countertop, and the backsplash can be molded in too, so there are no seams or caulk lines around the bowl to trap grime. Cleaning is as easy as a quick wipe.

Every top can be customized:

  • Size: Onyx recommends a 1½" overhang, which means a 19½" deep top for 18" cabinets and a 22½" deep top for 21" cabinets. Custom depths are also available.
  • Backsplash: An integral backsplash up to 4" tall, or a separate backsplash at any height.
  • Faucet holes: Single-hole, 4" centerset, or 8" widespread, plus an optional hole for a soap dispenser.
  • Drain: A tapered-thin drain sits flush with the bowl so water flows away instead of pooling.

Onyx Sink Bowl Styles

Onyx offers integrated bowls in several shapes, so your sink can match your style.

Rectangular integrated bowls: Venetian, Malibu, Norway, Caribbean, Olympic, Atlantic, and Café. These have clean, modern lines. Our Columbus customer chose a rectangular bowl.

Oval integrated bowls: Quincy, Oval, Tuscan, and Daytona. These give a softer, more traditional look.

Undermount ceramic bowls: Oval, Malibu, Venetian, Olympic, and Norway ceramic, plus an oval stainless steel option. These suit homeowners who prefer the look of a separate sink under the countertop.

Bowls can be placed wherever you need them, and double-sink vanity tops are available for shared bathrooms.

Countertop Shapes and Edge Styles

Most Onyx vanity tops are rectangular, but Onyx also makes custom shapes, including offset bowls, tapered ends, radius corners, bowed fronts, 90° and 135° corner tops, banjo designs, and winged designs. Edges come in a crisp flat edge or a softened double eased edge.

Onyx Countertop Colors

Onyx offers more than 40 colors, ranging from bright whites to speckled, stone-look finishes like the one in this project. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replace my bathroom countertop without replacing the vanity cabinet?
Yes. As long as your cabinet is in good condition, we can install a new Onyx vanity top and integrated sink on your existing cabinet.

Is an integrated sink easier to clean than a drop-in sink?
Yes. An integrated sink has no rim or seam between the bowl and countertop, so there are fewer places for dirt and mildew to collect.

Which areas does Ace Handyman Services Northwest Columbus serve?
We serve Columbus, Dublin, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Worthington, Clintonville, Powell, and the west side of I-71.
