Yes, a handyman can hang your framed art and take care of the light bulbs you cannot easily reach, and we did both for a Newport Beach homeowner on a recent visit. The job was a few paintings to hang and a few bulbs to change, finished in about three hours on site.
A job like this sounds small, but it is the kind of thing that waits for months because nobody wants to put a nail in the wrong spot or climb a ladder to a high fixture.
Why hanging art is worth getting right
A good frame can be heavy, and a painting hung a few inches too high or too low looks off every time you walk past it. Walls are not all the same either. What holds a small frame will not always hold a large one, so the hardware and the spot matter. Getting it right the first time also means fewer extra holes to patch later.
What we did in Newport Beach
The homeowner had a few paintings to hang and a few light bulbs to change. Our craftsman took care of both in one visit.
In the hallway, two framed landscape paintings now hang together on one wall.
In the dining room, a framed painting hangs near the table and chandelier.
By the entry, a dark framed piece sits above a wood console.
A group of smaller frames went up on another wall near a lamp, and a decorative piece hangs above a window.
Light bulbs and the small stuff
The other half of the visit was changing a few light bulbs. It is not glamorous work, but high ceilings and tricky fixtures make it a chore for a lot of homeowners. When we are already in the house, small tasks like this are easy to add to the same visit. If you have a short list of little things that never get done, that is a good job for a handyman.
